Depression in adolescents constitutes a global public health concern. However, data on its prevalence and associated factors are limited in low income countries like Nigeria and Uganda. The road to recovery may be no easy for some. You are alone. As an open minded mental health professional I cannot underestimate the role of supportive networks in quick recovery and overall wellness. Many individuals find safety nets in their faith or spiritual believes while not turning a blind eye to clinical or medical intervention when it becomes necessary.
