27 Year old Born without a Womb, Cervix and Vagina;The Psychological Distress

Joanna was 17 when she was diagnosed  with Rokitansky syndrome  Joanna Giannouli, 27, from Greece, has spoken about a rare condition that  made her unable to menstruate or have sex naturally because she has no womb, cervix and upper vagina. She suffers from Rokitansky syndrome. The rare condition is estimated to affect 1 in 5,000 women who only discover symptoms when they are unable to start menstruating as teenagers. Although the internal genitalia doesn't fully develop, women with the syndrome still grow breasts and pubic hair - giving a fully-functioning outward appearance. What Is Rokitansky Syndrome? Rokitansky Syndrome, or MRKH (Mayer Rokitansky Küster Hauser), is a congenital abnormality characterised by the absence of the vagina, womb and cervix. Women suffering from the condition will have normally functioning ovaries and external genitalia (vulva) , so will experience the normal signs of puberty - but will not have periods or be able to conceive.
