Your Mental Health-13 Reasons Why Should You Care

The primary focus of my blog has been the promotion, protection and restoration of mental health among individuals, communities and societies throughout the world because our mental well-being is fundamental to our collective and individual ability as humans to think, emote, interact with each other, earn a living and enjoy life.

Mental well-being is also a vital concern for me as I have observed that it is generally absent, neglected or under-funded not just in Africa but the world at large. But the absence/neglected seems to be more pronounced in Africa due to factors like diseases, unhealthy lifestyles, social inequalities e.t.c.

So henceforth, I will be sharing down-to-earth insights on how to you can improve your mental well being; prevention, care, recovery health from mental illness.

Therefore, we must pay prompt attention to this fundamental component of good health (Click HERE) for other components of health) because mental illness is hugely costly to the individual and to society.

Mental or emotional health is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.

Mental health also refers to your overall psychological well-being. It includes the way you feel about yourself, the quality of your relationships, and your ability to manage your feelings and deal with difficulties.
